When Is Christmas Jumper Day 2026?
Christmas Jumper Day 2026 takes place on Friday 11th December 2026. Run by Save the Children, it's the UK's biggest festive charity event — millions of people across schools, offices, and homes dig out their worst knitwear, donate £2, and spend the day being publicly terrible at dressing themselves. It is, genuinely, one of the best days of the year.
How Does Christmas Jumper Day Work?
It's beautifully simple. Wear a Christmas jumper on the day. Donate £2 to Save the Children (you can do this at christmasjumperday.org). That's it. Schools and offices usually collect donations on the day — just bring cash or point people to the online donation link.
There's no official judging, no prize, no competition — but that's never stopped anyone from taking it very seriously indeed.
What to Wear: Our Christmas Jumper Day Picks
The brief is simple: festive, fun, and ideally slightly wrong. Here's what we'd recommend for 2026:
- For schools: Bright colours, big prints, nothing that requires explanation. The ASOS reindeer intarsia is age-appropriate, affordable, and unmistakably Christmas.
- For the office: The M&S 3D snowman is safe enough for a professional environment while still being ridiculous. The pom-poms are conversation starters.
- For maximum impact: The LED light-up pudding jumper. It plays music. We're sorry.

Can I Enter a Homemade Jumper?
Absolutely — in fact, a homemade jumper is the strongest possible play. Stick tinsel to an old jumper, hot-glue some baubles on, attach a string of battery-powered fairy lights. Total cost: under £5. Shame points earned: enormous.
Made something special? Submit it to our Hall of Shame — the best jumpers get featured on the site, and the most-voted design each week gets turned into a real product.
Can I Use an AI-Generated Design?
Yes. More and more people are using Midjourney, DALL-E and other AI tools to design their own jumpers and get them printed. It's a legitimate and brilliant option. Generate your design, upload it to a print-on-demand service, and you'll have a truly unique jumper in time for the day.
We accept AI-generated submissions in our Hall of Shame — just tell us which tool you used.
Christmas Jumper Day Tips
- Don't leave it until the night before. The best jumpers sell out in November.
- Check the weather. December in the UK is cold. A jumper over a thermal is a legitimate layering strategy.
- If you're working from home, you still have to wear it. That's the deal.
- Coordinate with a colleague. Matching jumpers — especially with the office dog — are worth significantly more shame points.
